Windows permission prompt: When you run the installer, Windows may ask "Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?" — click Yes. This is required for GuardianDesk to install its protection components correctly.

Setup checklist

A few things to have ready before you start — this makes the process smoother for everyone.

Install on the protected PC directly

Download and run the installer on the computer you're protecting — not your own machine.

Use an Administrator account

Have your activation key ready

Purchase your key before or after installing — you'll need it to enable protection.

Decide on your Guardian PIN

Choose a PIN only you (the Guardian) will know — this is what unlocks the PC if protection triggers.

Have your contact info ready

Your name and phone number go into the Guardian Contact form — they appear on the lock screen.

Close other apps first

A clean environment makes installation smoother — close browsers and running programs beforehand.

Activation Process

How activation works

GuardianDesk uses a computer-specific activation process. Your key is tied to the Activation ID shown inside the app after installation.

Computer-Specific Activation

Each key is generated for one specific PC — this prevents unauthorized sharing and keeps protection secure.

Install & Copy Your Activation ID

After installing GuardianDesk, open the app. You'll see your unique Activation ID — copy it exactly as shown.

Purchase & Send Your ID

Buy your activation key, then email your Activation ID to support@guardiandeskpro.com so we can generate your specific key.

Enter Key & Enable Protection

Paste the activation key we send you into GuardianDesk, set your Guardian PIN, fill in your Guardian Contact info, and turn protection on.

Important: each key is for one computer only

Your activation key is generated specifically for your Activation ID. It will not work on a different computer. If you need to protect multiple PCs, contact us at support@guardiandeskpro.com and we'll help you get set up.
